Happy Belated One-Year Anniversary to FLP!

Happy birthday, FLP!

On October 3 of last year, FLP! was born. Before transferring over to Hire Jim Essian, The Bottom 126 had a modest following that has made HJE a mild success. Yay? Anyhow, thanks to everyone who’s been with me since the beginning, and thanks to those of you who followed the party over to HJE.

Screw You, Fate

This certainly didn’t take long.

Masur Leaving WGN Radio Booth; Hughes Has Toilet Installed in Booth

Andy Masur is moving from the Cubs’ radio booth to provide color commentary for the Padres’ radio broadcast. Soon after the annoucement, Cubs color man Pat Hughes, for whom Masur filled in during Hughes’ daily 7th-inning steamer, drew up plans to have a toilet installed in the booth.

“Andy will be greatly missed,” Hughes said through clenched teeth as a noxious odor filled the room. “He did great interviews before the game and, of course, he filled in for me during the seventh inning every day,” Hughes continued as a vein popped out on his reddening forehead. “If you’ll excuse me for a minute…  Wait.  Better make that ten minutes,” Hughes said, leaving the interview.

The toilet is expected to be installed before the Cubs season starts. Hughes will bring a portable toilet on road trips.

Home of the seventh inning steamer.

This seventh inning is brought to you by Fiamma portable toilets. Fiamma–when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Fire Lou Piniella! Closed for Weekend

Loyal readers, I’m out of town skiing until Sunday, so Fire Lou Piniella! is taking an (un)deserved break. I will try to post Sunday, but I will at the latest be back on Monday as The Bottom 126 countdown continues. Have a great weekend.

Don’t Worry. This is Still a Cubs Blog…

…but this Super Bowl Shuffle remix has appropriately cheesy lyrics to deserve a mention. I promise I’ll mostly shut up about the Bears until after they beat the Colts 34-21.

And by the way…

Eat it, ESPN “experts.” Not you, super-intelligent computer.

PWNED ESPN Experts (cont’d.)

Yes, it’s a Cubs blog, but well done, Bears. Well done, indeed.

Here we come, Miami!

Who is Lou offending today?

Ozzie Guillen, mang.

How Angry Is Lou Today?

Lou! Hot as a Kerry Wood fastball.
